Grooming Spaces

Grooming spaces are allocated on a first come, first served basis. Reservations for ASSA members will be taken starting January 2. General reservations will be taken starting January 16. All reservations must be received by March 25, after which time there will be no refunds, cancellations or changes accepted.

Grooming spaces are 8‘ wide x 8‘ deep. The price per space is $75.00. The spaces are intended for exhibitors requiring space to accommodate 1 to 4 dogs, crates, grooming tables and one 4‘x4‘ to 4‘x8‘ ex-pen.

If you wish to be assigned to spaces next to other exhibitors as a group, you may do so by sending the form, with appropriate payment for each exhibitor's reservation request, together in one envelope. The total number of adjoining spaces that may be reserved in a group request is a 8. Only one group request is allowed per envelope. There is no guarantee that individuals will be set up next to each other if the requests are sent separately.

Important notes about the grooming area:

The grooming area will not be available until 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 19. Please plan your arrival accordingly.
If necessary, ASSA reserves the right to reduce any exhibitor‘s grooming space allocation and relocate the space assignment If the space requirements for the number of dogs indicated at the time of reservation is not consistent with the number of dogs actually present in the grooming space.
AKC rules prohibit non entered dogs from the immediate vicinity of the show, including the grooming area.
Ex-pens must be arranged to conform to a reduced size 4‘ x 4‘ to 4‘ x 8‘ format and no more than 2 pens may be placed together in any space or adjoining spaces.
Local Boy Scout troop members will be available to help move equipment into the facility. Tipping directly to the scouts is prohibited, however a jar will be available at the sign in table for donations to the general troop fund.
Plastic sheeting, shavings, and water will be provided. All ex-pens must have plastic on the floor and up the sides to contain the shavings. No paper towels, sheets, etc. are allowed in place of the plastic sheeting. If you prefer not to use shavings, alternate material may be used at your own expense. You are expected to keep your ex-pens clean. Please be considerate of those around you.
Security will be provided inside the building each night of the show. The grooming area will be locked down from 11 p.m. until 6 a.m. each day. No admittance during this time will be allowed except in case of emergency.
"Reasonable decorations” are permitted in grooming spaces. Please keep individual banners and any other decorations to 7 ft. tall or less. Absolutely no canopies, lights or other electrical decorations are permitted.
Grooming spaces are not to be used as display areas for the sale of merchandise. Anyone found using a grooming space for such activity will forfeit the space and be responsible for any actions ASSA deems necessary.
